Eucharisteo Art

I mentioned in this update post about my One Word 2011 that I planned to paint an art piece with my word. Last week at art lessons I began. This is the final product. I’m not a great artist, but being able to paint and create is so good for my soul and spirit. I love how this turned out. It’s a little messy, imperfect, layered and exactly how I wanted it to look. I let go of all my expectations when painting this. Sometimes I’m too uptight and it shows in my paintings, but when I relax and let go that’s when I love what I have painted.

Are you doing anything artsy/crafty to keep your one word for the year in focus?

I haven’t done anything crafty lately, but I’m hoping that the local children’s hospital will allow my daughter’s girl scout troop to paint a mural for them. I love your painting. I know what you mean about being too uptight when creating something. I once was trying to paint a moon on a wall and I was getting frustrated because it wasn’t turning out like the picture I was using as an example. Then I just put the picture down, closed my eyes and tried to imagine the moon. It turned out better than what I could have copied, I think: http://stuffipainted.blogspot.com/2009/10/space-cadet.html
Paint more stuff and share it with us, please!

I like your idea of painting just for yourself. Sometimes I bake a new dish or plant flowers or draw birds to express a form of worship that words can’t achieve.

I love it! So very pretty.
I hadn’t thought about doing something crafty/creative with my word (Courage) but I’m going to start giving it some thought. Thanks for the inspiration!
