Catch: Five Minute Friday

I sit waiting for early dismissal of school. Fall break begins and so school is releasing early. We leave for a few days in the mountains in two days. And I am simply trying to catch my breath.

But for the life of me I don’t know why. My to-do lists have been completed and today’s is on track to be as well.

Perhaps it is the hectic schedule of the past few weeks. Unusual for me to feel like my schedule is this busy and honestly compared to most it isn’t.

Even with a spontaneous trip to Atlanta one day this week I have still managed to accomplish all I had needed and wanted to.

The spontaneity causing exercise to be pushed aside though. I think though it is just the preparation of leaving. Trying to write ahead for blog posts and doing other things so not to play quite as much catch up when we return.

When do you find yourself trying to catch your breath?

Visiting from 5MFridays… I like the look of your header…To answer your question of when do I find myself trying to catch my breath? Usually for me it happens when I have over-scheduled my day, or when life happens unexpectedly…

Thanks for asking and for sharing!ReplyCancel

I will just say “ditto.” I am so in need of a break… After tomorrow, I’m hoping for a Sabbath Sunday. I will do nothing. 🙂ReplyCancel

Up until a couple of months ago, I worked for a big IT company, and my life was so hectic. I worked with customer’s support, so sometimes I was called in the middle of the night, sometimes I had to work during the weekend, and even the regular days were so hectic.
I quit my job and I am taking sometime to see what God has for me. I want time back. Time to dedicate to God, to study the Bible, to do the things that I enjoy. And most of all, I want to enjoy my time working.
So I am praying that God would prepare a new job for me that allows me to have all that.ReplyCancel

With 5 kids, when *don’t I* find myself doing that? Maybe it’s all the lists? The being a slave to all that has to be done, the thinking about it all. I often get tired just from thinking about it all. Stop? Take a break? A walk? Forget the lists, and do only what has to be done (even for a morning or an afternoon). Do something that makes you feel good, something JUST for YOU.ReplyCancel
