Finding Our Peace

Sometimes it's easier to simply not make a decision. To stay amidst the comfortable instead of facing the fear of the unknown. It's an easier road to take. A road without pain. But usually it's also a road without peace.

Especially if the decision requires a huge step of faith. Especially if it requires obedience. Especially if it's not the answer you wanted God to give you.

'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope' -  Jeremiah 29:11 (NAS)

He never promised an easy life. He promises our welfare. But most of all He promises hope.

So maybe, in making the tough decisions, God is teaching us more about obedience. Teaching us about trust. To trust even when we can't see His purpose. To trust even when He asks us to leave our comfort zone, our safe haven. To trust He will give us peace and hope.

Even when God gives an answer we don't like we TRUST through obedience and even through the pain that what He has waiting on the other side of the experience is beyond what our minds can possibly comprehend today. Through that trusting, through that obedience, we find our hope. And in that hope we find our peace.

Have you discovered hope and peace in being obedient in the tough decisions?
