Hello friends! Thank you so much for stopping by! If you're new to my blog I try to post a book review each Wednesday. I have always loved to read and I want to share books I like with you. Sometimes I'll even share a book I didn't like with you as well, but that's rare. Come back tomorrow when I'll have hit my 1000th post mark. I'm celebrating with several giveaways in the coming days. Now on to the latest book review.
In Healing Promises, Amy Wallace continues her Defenders of Hope series with the story of FBI Agent Clint Rollins and his family. A gunshot during a standoff may have just saved Clint’s life. Overwhelmed by a stay in the hospital and tests revealing a faith shaking diagnosis, Clint thinks he can overcome this diagnosis on his own. His wife Sara, an oncologist who always holds out hope for her patients begins to lose that hope when this horrible disease touches her own family. Clint and Sara learn that through it all their faith may be shaken, but that there is still hope.
I’ll admit that I enjoy book series. I like getting to know the characters more and seeing how they develop. I liked seeing how the lives of Steven and Gracie progressed while also getting to know the secondary characters in Wallace’s first book in this series better.
Wallace also brings her characters’ situations and faith and struggles to life. These aren’t far fetched characters dealing with issues foreign to the everyday person. These characters could be anyone you know, facing situations that people face every day. Wallace’s stories and characters may be fiction, but her stories have life lessons we could all learn from.
