Professor Layton

Professor layton

Several months ago we bought Squirt the game Professor Layton and the Curious Village for his Nintendo DS. I had been seeing all the advertisements and since this one looked half way educational I thought it would be a good one to get for him.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village is full of brainteasers. I've always tried to buy books and things that would help his brain think in different ways. I have wonderful friends who are teachers who have always recommended great games and books for him so I realized early on how important critical thinking skills were. And as I've mentioned before Squirt is a sponge so he really enjoys riddles and brain teasers that really make him think.

Me on the other hand, it taxes my brain a bit too much. I'm not so good at envisioning things. But when kiddo got stuck on one of the games in the Curious Village like all good moms would try to do I tried to help him out. We figured it out and then did another one. After these I thought I would look into the newest one Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. You can actually play one of the games online. It took me two tries and lots and lots of thinking to get it, but I did. I'm thinking it will end up in Squirt's stocking at Christmas. I have to say the games are almost addicting.
