What a Week!

Last Sunday evening I came down with some sort of sinus crud. I felt awful for most of this past week managing to do what was just necessary. What a great way to start out the first full week of the new year! But I am feeling so much better now.

So that explains my abscense from the blog. Other than that though it was a good week all in all. So here are a few of my photos of the day. I'll be back this week with some scrapbooking I've done as well as a book review.

Monday, January 4, 2010 – Trying a cup of hot green tea sweetened with honey.

Tuesday, January 5, 2010 – My Project Life kit from Becky Higgins arrived! So excited to have an album that I can easily set up for all these photos of the day I'm taking in 2010. I've already got the weekly headers and half of the journal cards put in the album. It will be so much easier to keep up with it once I have them all in there.

Wednesday, Janury 6, 2010 – I have to say this has been the coldest January I can remember in ages.  Our temps dropped way below freezing for several days in a row and we rarely made it out of the mid 30s during the day time. So we decided to check out another one of the fountains in town. So, so cool.

Thursday, January 7, 2010 – Alabama won the National Championship making for some very happy people in our family.

Friday, January 8, 2010 – We were supposed to get snow Thursday afternoon, but it sort of fizzled out on us. It did bring a bit of rain that turned to ice by the time we woke up Friday morning to a 16 degree temp. Ice speckled the slide, but thankfully not the roads.

Saturday, January 9, 2010 – Freezing my fingers off in my scraproom trying to prepare for a Stampin' Up workshop. It used to be a raised patio, but the previous owners enclosed it without venting it. Usually not such a big deal with my little space heater, but when the temps drop into the teens and 20s it's really hard for even my space heater to heat the room up.

Sunday, January 10, 2010 – Squirt with the crazy kitten.

So that's all for now. Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon!

Wow – my kids would be so jealous of your son’s lego world! 🙂

  • amykiane - January 12, 2010 - 2:05 pm

Hi Sandra! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, my son loves legos and my husband is just a big kid so we have too many of the little things, but he plays with them all the time so its not too bad. Thanks again for stopping by my blog! — Amy

Hi Heather! Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your sweet compliment. I have just started drinking green tea. Im trying the decaf since I cant have too much caffeine for medical reasons. Im liking it and I think Im acquiring the taste. Thanks again for stopping by! — Amy

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love the fountain shot. There is one close to my parents’ house that is frozen over beautifully. I want to stop and take a photo. I fear that tomorrow’s above-freezing temps will melt the ice and I will have lost my chance. On another note, my husband can’t wait to build legos with the boys.

    Love the fountain pic!

  • Bev W. - January 12, 2010 - 5:58 pm

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I love the fountain pic as well You just don’t see things like that in N. Michigan. People want to protect the fountains so they push air through them so the pipes don’t freeze and ruin the whole fountain.

  • Christy - January 12, 2010 - 6:33 pm

Nice pictures and it looks like you have a nice little scrapping room:) I don’t know about your but I am ready for warm weather NOW!!

  • amykiane - January 13, 2010 - 10:43 am

Hi! Thank you for stopping by my blog too! Our fountains in town have yet to melt, but temps are rising so it wont be long. And I think theres something about dads being just as big of a kid as the kids. 🙂 — Amy

  • amykiane - January 13, 2010 - 10:46 am

Hi Bev! Thank you for stopping by my blog too! Ive wondered why they dont cut the water off to our fountains, but if our temps ever get this cold they freeze and it never seems to hurt them after. Of course we are having a very rare cold winter this winter. Nothing like what you get in Michigan though. Thanks again for stopping by! — Amy

Hi Christy! Thanks for stopping by my blog. My scrap room is actually part laundry room, scrap room, sewing room, etc. 🙂 But I love it and it works really well for me. And I could not agree more. I am so ready for warmer weather. — Amy
