Oh So Lovely Lemon

Oh how I love lemon. Lemon essential oil is definitely one of my favorite essential oils.

The second oil in the allergy trio, lemon has so many amazing uses.
I add a couple of drops of lemon in my water each day also. I have never liked lemon squeezed into my water or drinking water that has had lemons soaking in it. BUT I love lemon essential oils in my water. (When adding essential oils to your drinks be sure to use a glass and not a plastic cup or bottle. The oils attack toxins and will begin to break down the plastic since it has toxins.)
Lemon essential oil has antiseptic-like properties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function.
CAUTION: Citrus oils should not be applied to skin that will be exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light within 72 hours.
Some other uses of lemon essential oil:
Air Freshener: Put 6 drops of lemon oil along with 6 drops of Purification oil in a squirt bottle mixed with filtered water to use as an air freshener.
Gum & Crayon Remover: Use 1-2 drops of lemon oil to remove gum and crayon marks. Also works well with oil and grease spots.
Varicose Veins: Rub several drops of lemon oil diluted with a carrier oil on varicose veins to improve circulation and help relive the pressure on the veins.
Lemonade: In a blender mix 2 drops of lemon oil, 2 Tbsp of honey & 2 cups of filtered water for homemade lemonade.
Callouses/Bunions/Warts: Rub a drop of lemon oil diluted with a carrier oil on a corn, callous, bunion or wart twice a day until it disappears.
Fresh Fruit: To clean and increase the shelf life of fresh fruit, fill a bowl with cool water and 2-3 drops of lemon oil. Place fruit in the water and stir.
House Cleaning: Add 2-3 drops of lemon oil to water & spray on counters to sterilize.
Dishcloths: Soak your dishcloth overnight in a bowl of water with a drop of lemon oil to disinfect and kill germs.
