Remember this post from earlier this week? I was wondering what the difference between a town and a city were. Just a couple of days later I was checking our local newspaper online and what do I see but an article entitled “What Makes a City?” It seems that here in Alabama all it comes down to is population. Any area with a population of more than 2000 is considered a city. And in order for an area to incorporate as a town there must be more than 300 residents.
So this has me wondering. Was it just coincidence that this article happened to be published in my local paper just 2 days after I made my blog post? Just curious.
