The year is winding down and sufficient taught me a great deal. More than anything, though, I think sufficient taught me to rest and to simply be.
And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB)
Resting in Grace
Sufficient taught me to rest in His grace. A grace shown by others as well as in provision.
He opened doors and hearts, proving His provision is always sufficient even when I wonder how circumstances will work out. His grace always sufficient and faithful.
His grace shown by others when I climb learning curves and mistakes cause more work for others. The perfectionism tempting me to give up when I can not perform perfectly the first time. Grace given, reminding me it is okay to make mistakes. Reminding me I am sufficient and being perfected through Christ. Teaching me that if grace is sufficient for me it is also for others. A truth I need to relearn each day.
Simply Be
Sufficient required me to simply be. To know I am enough even when words do not flow and this space remains quiet. When life takes my creative energy and forced words are mere exercise and paint brushed on canvas has yet to reveal its art, I am still enough and grace still sufficient.
Slowly, my heart is learning I am enough no matter the opinions of others and even then I must show grace because if His grace is sufficient for me it is sufficient for those who do not consider that I am enough.
As this year blends into new, sufficient still reaches. Teaching me to not take offense, teaching to trust His plan.
Yes, His grace is sufficient.
